2012...A brand new year!! I am done with making resolutions and have moved on to making goals. Not having set any, just yet, writing will always be my #1 goal. Reading back on the few blogs I wrote last year, I realize that I need to update you on a couple of things that happened and didn't happen.
March 29, 2011, I self published my 1st book, Reflections, on Amazon through Kindle Direct Publishing, as an ebook. It was something I had to do in order to move on to my other projects. Over the past 10 months, a handful of readers have purchased Reflections and although it didn't get me on a top best sellers list, I am still very proud of this accomplishment. A couple of small royalty checks later and I still don't see myself as an actual author. Not that I don't see myself as one, it's more of non-belief than anything. During this past week, I set up Reflections to be an exclusive Kindle ebook for 90 days. (although it has technically been theirs exclusively for over 300 days now). With this, I was able to promote my book for free, up to 5 days, in order for new reader audiences to become familiar with the work of Kathi Laurino. All I can say is, WOW! Today is day 3 and already over 740 people have gotten their copy of Reflections. It makes me feel happy that my story is being read, shared & talked about across the USA.

Last January, I blogged about quitting smoking. Well, that didn't go so well. I'm still smoking with the promise of quitting everyday, and I cannot seem to let it go. I don't smoke any more, or less, since that post and I am still aware how horrible for my health it is, and I do still want to quit, but I guess I'm just not ready to. I will, however, make a promise to myself that I will be smoke free by, or before, my 40th birthday (in 2015). It sounds so far away. It is, but I will get there one step at a time.
Many different people take many different paths in each lifetime. They will meet many different faces along the way and make many different choices. They will travel over bumpy roads and maybe even feel let down at times, but the ending will always be worth it...reaching the goals they originally set out for and achieving their dreams!!
That is all for now. Until next time. =)
