Inspiration for Today...

I'm a quote thief... I do not have enough faith in myself to believe that I am witty enough to create my own, so here i will share with you a few of my favorite quotes...

  • "The woman came from a man's ribs. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved." Genesis2
  • “It’s never too late, it’s never too bad, you’re never too old, you’re never too sick to start from scratch once again, to be born once again.” Bikram Choudhury
  • "Though you may be under a dark tree, always look for the light shining through the branches." Unknown
  • "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." Anatole France
  • "Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible." Cadet Maxim
  • "You are a great champion. When you ran the ground shook. The sky opened and mere mortals parted. Parted the way to victory. Where you will meet me in the winner's circle. Where I will lay a blanket of flowers on your back." From the movie Dreamer
  • "Dreams can take you... to the corners of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your opportunities, and to the most special places your heart has ever known." Carson Wrenn
  • "It is not enough to take steps which may some day lead to a goal; each step must be itself a goal and a step likewise." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

  1. I like the Wolfgang von Goethe quote. It allows me to believe that every step we take, whether big or small, should be chosen with regard to bettering ourselves as well as our quality of life. Babies "get into everything" and through their beautiful ignorance they see the world in every possible direction and just keep moving. Baby steps are far better than no step at all ...like a mantra, if you will. If you're in the practice of telling yourself " I don't know. I don't think it can do it. I'm not worth much." then your mantra is drawn up as indecisive, lack of self-confidence and belittling yourself. If you continually tell yourself "I AM worth more. I CAN do more and I CAN do better." then your mantra will push you beyond the "bubble" that most will consider a "wall" or "safe zone". Walls can topple if built too high. If the wall was really that strong than you should be building stairs the take you to a greater perspective and carry you over any obstacle on the ground. Bubbles can give a little but can pop with ease and a zone of any sort is usually meant to sit in one spot. The only way not to be a "sitting duck" is to be a moving target. If any of these forms of protection break than you will feel vulnerable and will have to start from square one. Everyone in the world knows that the most difficult thing for anyone or anything can do is to build something from scratch.
Let your mantra be your sword and your confidence be your shield and only defend yourself long enough to move past what blocks you.
